This information is collected through standard server logs and may be processed through Cloudflare, our content delivery network (CDN) and security provider.

2.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, government-issued ID numbers, or any biometric data. We do not collect personal financial data beyond what is necessary to process your payment through Stripe.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To generate and deliver your vehicle report: Your VIN and vehicle details are processed by our AI scoring system to produce your ClearCar Score report. Your email address is used solely to deliver the completed report to you.
  • To process your payment: Your payment information is submitted directly to Stripe to complete your purchase transaction.
  • To provide customer support: If you contact us with questions or issues, we may use your email address to respond.
  • To improve our service: We may use anonymized, aggregated data (with no personally identifying information) to analyze usage patterns and improve the accuracy of our scoring model.
  • To comply with legal obligations: We may retain and disclose information as required by applicable law, regulation, or legal process.

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to delivering your report and supporting your purchase.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate ClearCar Score. Each operates under its own privacy policy and data practices.

4.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)

Stripe, Inc. handles all payment card processing on our behalf. When you enter payment information on our checkout page, that data is transmitted directly to Stripe over an encrypted connection. ClearCar Score never sees, receives, or stores your full card number or CVV. Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified. Stripe's Privacy Policy is available at: https://stripe.com/privacy

4.2 Resend (Email Delivery)

We use Resend to deliver transactional emails, including your report delivery email and order confirmation. Resend receives your email address for the purpose of sending these messages. Resend's Privacy Policy is available at: https://resend.com/legal/privacy-policy

4.3 Railway (Hosting and Infrastructure)

Our application is hosted on Railway's cloud infrastructure. Railway may process technical data, including server logs and connection information, as part of providing hosting services. Railway's Privacy Policy is available at: https://railway.app/legal/privacy

4.4 Cloudflare (CDN and Security)

We use Cloudflare to provide content delivery, DDoS protection, and performance optimization. Cloudflare processes network traffic data including IP addresses. Cloudflare's Privacy Policy is available at: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/

4.5 Anthropic API (AI Report Generation)

Our report scoring system uses the Anthropic API to analyze vehicle data and generate AI-powered assessments. Vehicle data (VIN, make, model, mileage, and related information) may be sent to Anthropic's API to generate your report. This data is not combined with your email or payment information before being sent to Anthropic. Anthropic's Privacy Policy is available at: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy

We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise commercially share your personal information with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

  • Vehicle reports: Generated reports are stored on our servers for up to 90 days from the date of purchase, after which they are deleted or anonymized. If you need a copy of your report after this period, please contact us before the 90-day window closes.
  • Email addresses: We retain your email address for up to 12 months for transactional and customer support purposes. After that period, it is deleted from our active systems.
  • Payment records: We retain transaction records (amount, date, Stripe transaction ID) as required for tax and accounting compliance. We do not retain full card data.
  • Server logs: Automatically collected technical data (IP addresses, access logs) may be retained for up to 30 days for security and debugging purposes.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted to and from our site, secure infrastructure provided by Railway and Cloudflare, and limited internal access to personal data.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
